Luccarelli Primitivo 2019

At a Glance
Overall Deep burgundy, cocoa, spice,  currants, fig jam, starts a bit “hot” really lush finish
Notes Some words and terms really get people going. For instance “moist” and “mouth feel” make my brain skip a beat. This wine has a really great mouth feel from start to finish. Very lush! (add “lush” to the above list)
Sweetness dry – 11 g/L

Rosehall Run Unoaked Chardonnay 2019

At a Glance
Overall tropical fruit, grapefruit zest, pineapple
Notes A very well done unoaked chardonnay from Ontario. The cooler climate allows for a touch of acidity which makes it nice and bright. Great to serve with rich or creamy dishes, I matched it with stroganoff. This wine screams summer patio!

Santa Rita Secret Reserve Sauvignon Blanc 2020

Goats Do Roam Red Wine 2020

At a Glance
Overall deep purple, plums, blackcurrant, black cherry, anise
Notes The first word that popped in to my head when I tasted this wine was “inoffensive”. It’s a Goldilocks wine. Not too sweet, not too dry, not too anything. This is in no way an insult. A great pick when you don’t know what your guests like or what to pair with dinner. The name is likely a play on the French Côtes du Rône – cute.

Taylor Fladgate Late Bottled Vintage Port 2015

At a Glance
Overall black cherry, dark grapes, sweet then finishes acidic
Notes I learned from experience that an open bottle of port keeps quite well in the fridge for about 2.5 weeks.  during that time I enjoyed this bottle as a digestif.

p.s. if love getting your digestif on, try amaro (an Italian herbal liqueur)
